Yamaha is a world-class brand that is known for a lot of things in the market, right from automobiles to some daily use home products. And it won’t be an exaggeration if you say that Yamaha products have their own separate fanbase due to the kind of quality they deliver.

The brand brought a couple of new soundbars in the US market around this time last year, and later, they were launched in other parts of the world as well. And if you already heard about or from Yamaha YAS 109 and Yamaha YAS 209 soundbars, you would know exactly what I intend telling.

Yamaha YAS 209 is the most sophisticated version among the two and it occurs in two parts. There is a sleek and beautiful soundbar and then there is an external sub-woofer as well. As soon as you switch the soundbar on, it automatically gets connected to the external woofer via Bluetooth and you are ready to get enthralled with the delicious music it could deliver.

But let us talk about a few of its technical aspects as well and here are some of the major features of that you should really know before buying it:

Design and Feel:

Yamaha likes to keep things simple in its devices and the same goes for Yamaha YAS 209 that has a minimalist black wrap-around fabric grille, and a small but effective remote control, along with an HDMI input and output with ARC.

The soundbar contains four 1–3/4 inch drivers and a duo of 1-inch tweeters. It contains a 6–½ inch wireless subwoofer with a total power output of 200 W. The actual soundbar weighs about 2.7kgs and the wireless subwoofer with Yamaha YAS 209 has a weight of around 7.9kgs. The external subwoofer is actually the real secret of its immersive sound experience and also a bit of extra cost that it takes.

Talking about the connectivity in this, the Yamaha YAS 209 soundbar has an HDMI ARC port, optical in, Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi support as well. The device also has an HDMI port for passthrough.

Audio and Performance:

It’s basically the audio quality of this soundbar that drives people nuts in parties as it has quite an amazing sound quality. But before that, you need to know that the Yamaha YAS 209 soundbar is powered by a MediaTek quad-core chipset and I see MediaTek SoCs quite commonly used in many smart speakers from Yamaha and Amazon, etc.

This powerful chipset takes care of the rapidity in response from Amazon Alexa and can serve all the functions that a smart speaker does for your home. Besides, the MediaTek chipset also takes care of the wireless connectivity of the device.

Talking about its performance, the Yamaha YAS-209 soundbar can be set up quite easily. You can place it under your TV or mount it on the wall with the rear screw holes and a provided template. All you need to do is connect your sources using HDMI, optical digital, or Bluetooth and you are good to get the best taste in music.

The device supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS Digital Surround sounds and can also support DTS Virtual:X (described as 3D surround sound processing for a single soundbar solution).

In addition to this, there are a number of other surround modes that include Music, TV Program, Movie, Sports, and Game and you can easily guess what these modes are meant for. It also has a pretty decent remote control with clear function keys.

And with all these, the Yamaha YAS-209 soundbar can be obtained at a cost of just $349, which I think is quite good for most users. So if you are a music lover with rich taste in audio quality, the Yamaha YAS-209 soundbar can be a really good option for you.
