Sony enjoys a kind of good reputation in the gadget department and homes around the world would be proof of this. Especially in the TV segment, Sony has definitely lived up to the expectations of the people and continues doing so with the passing time.

Last year, Sony brought a series of good 4K TVs in the US market and these occurred in various sizes. Out of these, the Sony X950G 4K TV was one of the most popular ones in the segment. And here, let us know a bit about this smart TV and why it is an ideal choice for your home:

Sony X950G 4K TV: Look and Feel

The one I reviewed was the Sony X950G 4K TV having a display size of 55”. It is adorned with trim bezels and has high-quality metal accents. Besides, it has a profile slim-enough considering it a TV with a space-hogging full-array local dimming backlight system.

The smart TV also contains some of Sony’s finest image technologies. For instance, there is the X1 Ultimate picture processor to a specifically designed mode just for Netflix so as to get the streaming looking its best. Sony has ensured the picture you get out of the X950G can stand tough against the high-end TVs.

Apart from Netflix and YouTube, Sony X950G 4K TV also supports hordes of other digital streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and a lot more. And if you are too lazy to even use the remote, there is Google Assistant available to control the TV through the remote or voice activation.

Sony X950G 4K TV: Display and Performance

Whether you are a movie buff or addicted to gaming, Sony has made sure to deliver an ultimate picture quality that not only meets your eyes but even your other senses.

It uses a full-array local dimming panel and provides great contrast which prevents blooming (a phenomenon of Uneven backlight, also known as clouding or un-uniform brightness). The image quality has a pleasant natural look and without any extra colors or brightness, the smart TV offers colors without being too intense. Even the black levels are great for HD/SDR content.

The smart TV also has a setting for the picture with a feature called Live Color. Using this, when you can switch it on, the vibrancy and saturation of the images will suddenly pop. Not to forget, there are features such as IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG. If you wish to receive the maximum experience when watching Netflix, you can use a dedicated calibrated mode feature that calibrates the picture and display the most accurate image. This helps you enjoy the experience of gorgeous looking streaming content.

The smart TV is powered by a MediaTek chipset that takes care of the power and performance of the smart TV. while the Chipset takes care of the connectivity features, it also enhances the performance of the Google Assistant, so that you can get a rapid response for your voice commands.

Having said that, the Audio Quality of the TV might not meet a lot of expectations but it is still good enough. With the kind of setup, the audio appears emerging from the center of the TV, but it’s kind of weird when you hear it.

However, at a cost of just $1100, I think the features of this smart Sony TV seem to be good enough for a lot of users. What do you think about it?
