It isn’t a surprise anymore that a well-established smartphone brand (at least what most people think) would launch a smart TV in the upcoming future. And it’s not just about the ventures of BBK Electronics. In fact, even brands like Nokia, Motorola, and now even Infinix have smart TVs in the market, and in such a case, while you have a lot of options, it could be utterly confusing as well.

So Oppo is yet again in the market with some new series of TVs which were launched in China in October 2020 and now Oppo is about to launch them all across the world. There is a couple of new series, including Oppo R1 TV series and Oppo S1 TV Series. While the R1 series of TVs are more in the affordable segment, the Oppo S1 TV series is kind of flagship in nature. However, the price is not all that flagship and this is what makes the Oppo S1 series of TVs quite interesting.

Here, let us know this flagship Oppo S1 TV in a bit of detail:

Specifications of Oppo S1 TV:

Display Features: Oppo S1 TV occurs in two sizes, 55-inch and 65-inch having a display resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels with 4K QLED quantum dot display. The smart TV has a 48Hz to 120Hz variable refresh rate and up to 120% NTSC color gamut with 1.07 billion colors and up to 1500 nits brightness. It supports other display features such as Dolby Vision, HDR 10, HDR 10+, and HLG as well.

Processor Features: Oppo S1 TV is powered by a MediaTek MT9950 processor that has a primary clock speed of 1.8GHz with a quad-core structure having Cortex A73 in the core. It also consists of a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU which takes care of the graphics on the TV. And you would expect a MediaTek TV chipset in literally every second TV because MediaTek chipsets are the top performers in the TV segment.

RAM and ROM: The smart TV comes with a whopping 8.5GB of RAM and a huge 128GB of internal storage. This means you can store a lot of your data, files, and application in the smart TV without worrying even a bit.

Operating System: The smart TV runs on ColorOS which is good enough to run Android Applications as well.

Camera: Yes, this smart TV has a front camera as well. You get a 1080p pop-up camera front camera which assists you in your video calls and makes your smart TV a bit more interesting than the normal ones. How about a video call on a giant 65” screen?

Virtual Assistant: While you might expect Alexa and Google Assistant in every smart TV, Oppo S1 TV has brought the Breeno voice assistant which is good enough to assist all your needs on your voice commands.

Connectivity Features: The smart TV support Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz) which is great for the users. Other than this, you can connect your devices with its Bluetooth 5.1 support. Talking about wired connectivity, there are a couple of HDMI 2.1 ports, a single HDMI 2.0 (ARC) port, a duo of USB 3.0, one optical, one Ethernet, and an NFC one-key screen projection. Got to say, this has many more connectivity features than an ordinary TV.

Audio Features: The smart TV supports 18 speaker system with up to 85W sound output and a 5.1.2 channel. There is a single 12W center channel with a couple of 8W left and right channels, a duo of 8W left and right surround, a 25W subwoofer, and a couple of 8W Sky channels. It supports Dolby Atmos as well.

So the features of Oppo Smart TV are good enough if you consider the cost of OPPO Smart TV S1 65″ as 7999 yuan (US$ 1196 approx.) and Oppo TV R1 55″ as 3299 yuan (US$ 493 approx.). What do you think?
