Chromebooks came as an alternative to laptops and now they are much in demand. And people certainly choose these products because of the fact that these are far more portable and easygoing than the laptops.
One of my friends has this Acer Chromebook R13 and it looks so good with its 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Besides, the MediaTek M8173C processor with a clock speed of 2.1GHz offers it a really good performance. But then I thought about how well you could use these Chromebooks, and the next minute, I was searching for some tricks that would offer you better assistance in your Chromebook usage. Here are some of these that I found over the internet.
Taking a Screenshot:
I know there are tons of tools that can easily help you take a screenshot in seconds, but if you need to do it a lot quicker, then Ctrl + F5 will work well for you. Your screenshot would get saved to your Downloads folder and you can access them anytime you want.
Using Android Application:
At least once in your life, you would have thought of having a particular Android application to be a part of your laptop. Well, Chromebooks can certainly make your dream come true.
There are lots of Android apps that can run on your Chromebook, but not every Chromebook supports this feature. If it works with Google Play, the Android applications will work well, but first, you may need to update to the latest version of Chrome OS.
In order to get Google Play, you need to go to Settings, look for “Google Play Store,” and turn on “Enable Google Play Store on your Chromebook.” If you do not see this option, then your Chromebook probably doesn’t support Android applications. Following this, you can get started and enjoy millions of Android apps on your Chromebook.
Unlocking your Smartphone:
Yes, you can easily connect your smartphone and your Chromebook and unlock your smartphone using the other device. For this, you need to make sure that your phone and Chromebook are near each other, the Bluetooth is turned on, and both are signed in to the same Google account.
Now look for “Screen lock” in the People section of your settings and confirm your password to choose “Set up” next to the “Smart Lock for Chromebook” option. The rest of the steps can be followed as per the instructions and your Chromebook and smartphone would stay connected.
Factory Resetting:
While most of the people perform this step when their Chromebook is full or they are about to sell it, it is something that you should really know. However, you would want to keep all your valuable safe and you can back up anything you want to keep to Google Drive. A reset won’t impact anything you have stored in the cloud.
In order to Factory Reset your Chromebook, you need to go to your Settings, choose “Advanced,”. Following this, select “Powerwash” and click Restart. You can sign in with your Google Account and follow the guided steps to set your Chromebook up again if needed after a reset.
