Amazon Smart Oven: The Nex-Gen in Ovens
The home appliances are getting smarter when you know that your kitchen has an oven that could just follow your voice instructions and act accordingly. The Amazon Smart Oven simply blew my mind when I got to know its features, and most importantly, a petite investment of just $250 for it.
So without boasting much about how much I like this product, I would like you to know the functions it serves. And I am pretty sure that you would start liking it too when you know more about it.
Design and Appearance:
Amazon Smart Oven is like any other microwave or oven in its outer appearance. However, what goes inside it makes it much better.
The Amazon Smart Oven measures about 21.8 inches wide, 21.4 inches deep and 13 inches tall. It weighs around 45 pounds (20.5kgs, hope you are not expecting anything too light). With the1.5 cubic foot interiors in the oven, it is good enough to cook up to a five-pound chicken.
The oven is rated for 1000W microwaving, 1,400W convection cooking, and 1,300W food warming. It has standard 10-level adjustment and buttons on the front for each cooking mode.
My Favorite Part: Alexa
As I said, this is what I love the most in the appliance.
It has Amazon’s Wi-Fi Simple Setup, and once an Alexa smart speaker is set up on your Wi-Fi network, the oven will automatically be a part of the network and can be found by your Alexa app when you plug it in.
Just command Alexa to wok on stuff like preheating the oven from any speaker on your network and consider it done. Even when you’re not home, a remote start button can be used to turn on preheating and cooking from anywhere, being vigilant of shutting off after 24 hours.
And could you guess what makes this Amazon Oven smart enough?
Well, this is powered by a MediaTek chipset and this takes care of all the display functions, including smart Alexa features.
You can shoot order from anywhere in the home to “Preheat the Oven” or “Reheat the Coffee” and the oven is smart enough to carry out your orders. Plus, it also offers you a call on all the Amazon speakers connected with the Wi-Fi in your home when the task was accomplished. However, you can enable or disable this feature according to your needs.
Isn’t it so cool? You just need to request a service and the smart oven is capable of carrying out the orders. Man, this would have been creepy in the 20th century, but this is all science and Artificial Intelligence to the benefits of human beings.
Oven Functions:
The Amazon Smart Oven can serve almost all kinds of oven functions such as convection, microwaving food, air frying and auto roasting the food. In fact, most of these can be performed by simply requesting a service. However, you do need to perform the basic functions. For instance, to roast a chicken, you do need to marinate it and put it inside the oven. Well, you can surely do at least this much.
Conclusion:
Amazon Smart Oven is probably the lowest-cost appliance with these many functions and I think this is really good. The Alexa voice control feature was surely a great thing to add to an oven and this is what makes it smart, but at a very reasonable cost.
However, make sure that this smart oven is not meant for bulk cooking and small families or bachelors can do pretty well with it. But for me, this is one of the best things that I saw lately.
