Okay, I admit that I am miles behind others in writing about this but I just made my debut on Medium and I can’t help but review this amazing device, Amazon 4K Fire TV Stick which is nearing almost 2 years of its launch.

Well, this is one of the greatest innovations that hit the market that year and is perhaps one of the most popular devices now, loaded with a wide assortment of features.

Here are some of the major features of this digital entertainment provider that I really love about it:

Compact Design and Shape:

Well, the design and the shape hasn’t changed much from the previous devices but it’s still really good. While it measures 99mm x 30mm x 14mm, the Fire TV Stick 4K has an unobtrusive structure designed to plug directly into the HDMI 2.2 port on your TV.

The stick appears a bit wider than a standard HDMI cable and therefore Amazon did provide a male-to-female HDMI extender cable so you face no troubles in adjusting it.

There’s a micro-USB port on the side of the Fire TV Stick 4K to connect the power adaptor. And one of the most relieving changes is in the remote that now includes volume buttons and a power button as well.

The users were unable to change the volume using the previous model’s remote and it was getting to their nerves due to the fact that they needed to switch between it and their TV remote, or many times, asking even Alexa to change the volume.

Performance:

Everything aside, the crisp picture details and the lag-free operation is what has made it a lot popular in the segment, and the performance is surely governed by some exciting features.

For instance, Amazon brought the new 1.7GHz MediaTek MT8695 processor to power the performance of the TV Stick, which was the best one available then. It’s a 12nm SoC designed for 4K streaming in a dongle form factor. Besides, it’s paired to 1.5 GB of DDR4 memory.

So you do know now that the powerful MediaTek SoC is the factor behind all the performance it delivers.

4K Display? That’s Right:

The Fire TV Stick 4K, as the name indicates, delivers 4K HDR, which offers a crisper picture and stimulating colors on TVs that support. You would have the idea that while the previous Fire TV pendant and Fire TV Cube supported only the basic HDR10 format, the Fire TV Stick 4K goes a step forward to support Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

It also supports Dolby Atmos soundtracks, if you have the home audio gear to take advantage of it. And apart from Apple TV 4K device, The Fire TV Stick 4K from Amazon is just the second streaming player that delivers its entire menu system in HDR, besides converting the standard dynamic range video to HDR.

Amazon also did quite well by including hardware-accelerated MPEG-2 video support in the Fire TV Stick 4K. So if you want, you can plug in an HDHomeRun Connect TV tuner into your Wi-Fi router and browse over-the-air channels via an antenna at the full broadcast quality and that too from any television around the house.

Isn’t it something interesting? Well, this is what the users have been demanding since forever and Amazon surely threw a bone to it.

Price:

The Amazon 4K Fire TV Stick costs you a meager $49 and this is hardly anything if you look at the world of features it delivers. This entertainment booster is almost 2 years old now and has surely changed the way you stream your televisions or online channels.

Are you using Amazon 4K Fire TV Stick at your home? Shoot your opinion about it in the comment section.
